I had some doubts that the thermometer was working properly (oh the stress of it all!) and have now tested all the 49 eggs in the Hova-Bator. I threw away 9 eggs, so have 40 eggs incubating. The 8 I threw away had not been fertile, seemed to be more porous shells, and 1 had a blood ring in it. The rest either all have veins or had some obvious movements inside them! So Mother's Day means more hatching for us. The last 20 chicks are doing wonderfully in their brooder in the barn. Growing fast and needing a clean out today!
